May events

The end of the school year always seems super crazy...but then again, who am I kidding, EVERY day anymore seems super crazy around here!! Kaylee had her tumbling performance and Kolby had his end of the year preschool celebration!

Kaylee really enjoyed tumbling and did very well at it! She worked her little behind off hoping to master her back bend before the performance. She wasn't quite there but gave it a shot during the performance and did pretty dang good. Her head was a little soar after, but she was pretty pleased with herself!

Kolby enjoyed his preschool. He is looking forward to heading back this fall. Kolten was in baseball, but I don't seem to have any pics of that for some odd reason. He was in pitching machine again this year and had a great season.

EASTER!!!

We had a really fun Easter! The kids woke up bright and early to find eggs and their Easter baskets! Now that Kolten and Kaylee are getting older, the Easter Bunny challenges their finding skills a little! They were starting to get a little worried that he may have forgotten them. They eventually found them but we are still concerned that there may be an egg or two still hiding somewhere lol!

We had a great time at church and headed to Grandma and Grandpa Stanley's house after church. Later that evening we came home and Papa, Nana, Breanna, Boone and Megan came up for dinner. Nana and Papa set up an egg hunt for the kids and they had to decode a message with the eggs that they found. They loved it and the prize was......MONEY for our San Diego trip. They were so excited.

Spring Break fun!!

We had a really fun weekend! We spent Friday and Saturday with some great friends out at Flaming Gorge. Our first Gorge trip of the summer lol!! It was a little chilly at times, but that didn't stop anyone from having fun! The kids got to fly kites, play on the beach, hang with friends, and go on an Easter egg hunt. Kolby found the "special" silver egg! We all went and toured the dam and overall had a really really fun time!

Here is a picture of all the kids (except for Karter;) piled in the back of the truck eating their lunches right before we headed off on our tour. At the very end of the tour before you head back up the dam they give you the opportunity to throw some fish food over the edge and see the fish come up to get it. The kids thought that was sooooooo cool!!!! That totally made the trip worth it!! It was very interesting:)Here are pictures of dying easter eggs, playing and roasting marshmallows:)

Pinewood Derby

Kolten competed in his first Pinewood Derby on March 31. He had a great time and his car looked AWESOME!!! He had fun getting ready for the derby too. We have some great friends who invited us over to lend us a hand and let us use their saw. His car was a Wyoming Cowboys car, perfect for him! He did really well for his first year and we all learned a lot about what to do and what not to do lol. He is already looking forward to doing it again next year! Way to go Kolten!!

St. Patricks Day

Isn't that the cutest little smile you have ever seen??!!!! Boy did we ever have a great St. Patrick's Day this year! We started our day by waking up to a total mess a leprechaun had left behind when he came to leave some green treats for the kids. The kids were amazed at the devistation left behind and thrilled that a leprechaun had actually made it to our house from Ireland even in a blizzard. Kolby had fun pinching Shane for not wearing green until he got tired of getting pinched and went and changed shirts lol!
After school Kaylee pulled out her first tooth. She was soooooo excited! She couldn't believe how great of a day she was having. Some leprechauns had made it to her classroom too! My Mom and I had a dinner at church which was very nice. We then met Papa, Breanna, Shane, Kolten, Kaylee, Kolby and Karter for ice cream and to help celebrate St. Patrick's Day, and even more importantly, Nana's birthday! Come to find out a mean leprechaun, Stinky, had been to Nana and Papa's house too and left some treats for Kolten, Kaylee, and Kolby. He also left them a mean note calling them their "freaky little grandkids." Kaylee could not quit thinking about how mean Stinky was and why he would do such a thing on Nana's birthday! It was so much fun!!!
It was a late night, but totally worth it! Kaylee woke up to a dollar under her pillow from the Tooth Fairy this morning, so we started our day out great once again!!

Is is Spring Yet?

"Spring" in Robertson has a totally different meaning that "spring" in other parts of the world lol!! It is an exciting yet dreadful time of year. Calving season has started and I really love to go and see all of the new little babies. However, it is really busy too. Shane has to go up in the field several times during the day and at night to check on them and make sure that everything is going ok for both the moms and babies. He has had to bring a few babies down to warm them up inside by the fire and give them a bottle to fill their little tummies before returning them to their mothers. We have had a few die already and two sets of twins with all four calves living, which is VERY rare!! It is fun and stressful all at the same time. Here are a couple pictures of Kolby and Karter all bundled up ready to go check cows.
Our snow is trying to melt and our driveway is a total disaster. My muddy driveway is what I hate most about spring. We can't get up our driveway without 4wheel drive, and even then it is tricky sometimes! We have had sooooo much snow this winter and I am nervous about how long it is going to take it all to melt. We noticed that the carpet in our bedroom was getting wet and Shane discovered that the melting snow was getting behind our siding and seeping through where the wall meets the floor totally soaking the floor under our window. Ugh!! So I snapped a couple pictures of him attempting to shovel the snow off of our roof. As you can tell from the pictures, the snow is above his knee with a nice thick layer of ice at the very bottom! Shoveling the snow was the only solution that we could think of for a quick fix until this summer when we can really brainstorm and get the problem fixed permanently.
p.s. He tired out before getting very far and gave up, it did seem to help a bit though;)

Special Cake

I had my Aunt Marlene make a special cake for Kolten and Karter's special day! It turned out great. Kolten loved having a special cake made just for him!
